Rachel Mashni
Mercy Hospital Anderson
Cincinnati, Ohio
Since November of 2007, Rachel Mashni has been an outstanding teen volunteer at the Anderson Inpatient Unit of Hospice of Cincinnati. Rachel has logged over 90 hours at the Anderson Inpatient Unit visiting with ailing patients and their families. She is very dedicated to serving her patients’ needs on a regular basis with her kindness and compassion. She is always willing to lend a helping hand, whether it involves serving meals to patients, filling water pitchers, answering telephones, and even stocking rooms with towels. As she prepares to become a physician and practice missionary work in third world countries, Rachel is involved in her high school’s Diversity Club and National Honor Society, serves as President of the school Book Club, and also takes a full course load of advanced classes. She knows what it means to use her intelligence and talents in a very humble way to impact the lives of others in both this life and in the next. The impact that this one young woman has made on her community is brilliant and breathtaking.
