Official Rules

HOW TO ENTER:
You can nominate your community's unsung hero(s) by submitting an online nomination form that describes why this person is deserving of a Spirit of Women Award as related to their respective category. Submit the nomination online by visiting www.spiritofwomen.com/awards_nominate.html or through other means of nomination as provided by your local participating Spirit of Women hospital.  Please be sure to provide as much detailed information as possible, as your answers will be the main criteria used by your local Spirit of Women hospital’s selection committee to determine who is most deserving of being named this year’s Regional Winners.  Individuals are also encouraged to self-nominate, so please don’t be shy!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL ENTRIES:
Entries that do not contain all required information will not be accepted.  It is important to provide all appropriate contact information requested for both the nominator and nominee.  Nominators and nominees also acknowledge and agree that nominators' entries become the sole property of Spirit of Women, who thereby has the right to publish, display, edit, promote and use entries in an otherwise appropriate manner.

JUDGING:
Regional Winners are selected by Regional Selection Committees coordinated by Spirit of Women hospitals. In becoming Regional Winners, these individuals also become nominees for the Spirit of Women National Awards. One National Winner will be selected in each of following three categories:

Young Person Role Model (Ages 14-20)
Community Hero (At least 21 years of age)
Healthcare Hero (Clinical professional)

Spirit of Women will appoint an unbiased National Selection Committee to determine National Award Winners from the pool of all submitted Regional Winners by participating network hospitals.  The National Selection Committee will be comprised of foundation board members, corporate and advocacy group leaders, hospital representatives, and past award recipients.

PRIZES:
All Regional Winners will receive recognition from their local Spirit of Women hospital. In addition, National Winners will receive recognition and grand prizes courtesy of Spirit of Women.
