Who should get a seasonal flu vaccination?

The CDC recommends that you receive a flu shot if you meet one or more of the following criteria:
Anyone who wants to protect themselves from the flu and decrease the risk of transmitting the flu to others.
All healthcare personnel.
All pregnant women, women who will be pregnant during the influenza season, and breastfeeding women.
All children six months to 18 years old.
All persons ages 50 years or older.
All persons with chronic medical conditions such as asthma or diabetes.
Adults and children who are immunosuppressed.
Residents of nursing homes and other chronic-care facilities.
People who live with or care for people who are at high risk for complications from the flu.
